Warszewiczia coccinea (Wild Poinsettia)
Intense, Show-Stopping Flower Clusters
Warszewiczia coccinea, also known as Wild Poinsettia, Chaconia or Pride of Trinidad, is a fast-growing tropical shrub prized for its intense red to crimson flower clusters, hanging in dramatic display above the foliage. What looks like a single bold bloom is actually a tight cluster of flowers — a genuinely intriguing, eye-catching feature that adds real colour, texture and life to any garden.
A Genuine Wildlife Drawcard
The flowers are a strong attractor for butterflies, bringing real activity and movement to the garden alongside the visual display.
Perfect for the Wet Tropics
You may’ve seen these grown as standardized trees outside of the Cairns Botanical Gardens, that’s how genuinely spectacular they are that Flecker uses them at their grand entrance. Perfect for the Wet Tropics, highly recommended for Mission Beach.
