This is one of the varieties developed by the Department of Primary Industries in Darwin as a cut flower variety. The traits they looked for were extended flowering season, good color, good vase life, early flowering and prolific flowering. I really like the color of this one, it’s such a warm bright pink!

Developed through the pioneering tropical cut flower evaluation work carried out by Darwin DPI , Darwin Pink was selected from torch ginger breeding and assessment programs focused on producing superior flowers for the Australian and export markets. Researchers sought plants with vibrant colour, strong stems, good vase life, transport durability and consistent flowering in tropical climates. The result is a striking pink Etlingera that has become a favourite among collectors, landscapers and cut flower growers alike.

Where We Ship
We ship to QLD, NSW, ACT and VIC via Australia Post eParcel with tracking on every order. Flat rate shipping applies — see checkout for rates to your state. We are unable to ship to WA, SA, TAS or NT at this time.

When We Ship
Orders are picked and packed weekly. During extreme heat, we may hold your order for a cooler shipping window to protect your plants in transit — if this happens, we'll let you know via email. We don't ship into known heatwave conditions.

When Your Plants Arrive
Open your box as soon as possible. Even a few hours in a hot letterbox or on a doorstep can stress tropical plants. Give them a good drink of water and a light foliar spray of kelp solution, place them in a shaded spot for a day or two gradually increasing light to recover from transit, then plant out or pot up into their permanent position.
