Frequently Asked Questions
Ordering & Shipping
Where do you ship?
We ship to QLD, NSW, ACT and VIC via Australia Post eParcel. Flat rate shipping applies — you’ll see the rate for your state at checkout. We’re unable to ship to WA, SA, TAS or NT at this time.
How are my plants packed?
Every plant is soaked in a tri-kelp solution before packing to reduce transit stress. We pack using recycled boxes, shredded newspaper sourced from Endeavour Foundation, and biodegradable bags. Your plants travel secure, hydrated, and wrapped in materials we feel good about.
How long does delivery take?
Typically 2–5 business days depending on your location. Orders are picked and packed weekly, so there may be a short wait between placing your order and dispatch. You’ll receive a tracking number by email once your order ships.
What happens if it’s very hot when my order ships?
We do our best to avoid dispatching during extreme heat at our end, but we can’t monitor conditions across every delivery route. If you’re expecting a heatwave in your area, let us know in your delivery instructions and we can try to time dispatch around it. Once your tracking number arrives, make sure someone is available to bring the box inside or into shade on delivery day — a few hours on a hot doorstep can undo a good trip.
Can I track my order?
Yes — every order ships via Australia Post eParcel with tracking. You’ll receive your tracking number by email when your order is dispatched, and you can also view order status in your My Account page.
What size plants do you send?
Plant sizes vary by species and availability. The product description for each plant includes the pot or bag size supplied. Photos on our website show mature plants and are indicative of the species, not necessarily the size you’ll receive.
Do you offer gift orders?
Yes — you can enter a separate shipping address at checkout. If you’d like us to include a message or leave out pricing, add a note in the delivery instructions at checkout.
Visiting the Nursery
Can I visit the nursery?
Absolutely — but by appointment only. We’re a working propagation nursery, not a retail garden centre, so booking ahead lets us prepare your plants, organise stock, and give you the time and attention you deserve. Get in touch via our contact page to arrange a visit.
Where are you located?
We’re on the Cassowary Coast in Far North Queensland. We’ll send you directions when you book your appointment.
What’s available in person vs online?
Our full range is available online. When you visit, you’ll see what’s currently growing in the nursery — which often includes advanced plants and larger specimens that are too big to ship. Booking ahead means we can have specific plants ready for you.
Plants & Growing
Can I grow tropical plants in Sydney or Melbourne?
Many tropical plants handle cooler conditions better than people expect — you just need to choose the right species and create the right microclimate. We ship to NSW, ACT and VIC because we know which of our plants perform well outside the tropics. Browse our cold hardy tropical plants collection for our best picks for southern gardens, or get in touch and we’ll help you choose.
My plants arrived looking stressed — is that normal?
Yes — transplant shock after a few days in a box is completely normal. Open the box as soon as possible, give your plants a good drink of water, and place them in a shaded spot for a day or two to recover. Most plants bounce back within a week or two with new growth. If something doesn’t look right after a few days, take a photo and email us.
How do I care for my plants when they arrive?
Unpack immediately, water well, and rest them in shade for a day or two before planting out. Mulch heavily after planting, and water consistently during the first few weeks of establishment. For detailed advice, read our Shipping & Care FAQ.
What if my plants arrive damaged?
Take a photo and email us within 24 hours of delivery. We’ll sort it out — whether that’s a replacement, credit, or refund. See our full Refund & Returns Policy for details.
Do you sell seeds or cuttings?
No — we supply established plants grown from division at our nursery. Every plant you receive has an established root system and is ready to plant.
About Us
How long have you been growing?
Since 2004. We’re a family-run propagation nursery on the Cassowary Coast, growing everything we sell on-site using gravity-fed rainforest water and biological farming methods. If you want to know more, visit our About page.
What makes your plants different?
We propagate everything ourselves — we don’t buy in and resell. Our plants are grown in the humidity, rainfall, and microclimates of Far North Queensland, irrigated with living water from the World Heritage rainforest adjacent to our property. They arrive climate-ready and vigorous.
Can I get advice on what to plant?
Of course — get in touch via our contact page and tell us about your garden: where you are, how much sun and space you have, and what you’re trying to achieve. We’re happy to recommend plants that will work for your conditions. You can also browse our growing guides for detailed planting and care information.
